In the UK, they call it thin, medium or thick slice. (not that we generally eat it) - i think its really a matter of personal choice... do you like more bread in your sandwiches or less? Personally, i would use the 'sandwich' variety even for toasted sandwiches, to give the fillings the balance of power... :) lol, a most excellent post.
